10-Bubble / Balloon Hems & Bloomers

Playful bubble hemlines and bloomers made a comeback, infusing skirts and dresses with a whimsical flair. Giorgio Armani and Chloé highlighted bloomers, while Alberta Ferretti, Akris, and Cecilie Bahnsen showcased bubble hemlines.

Chloé also featured bubble hemlines in their dresses, some adorned with floral prints and designed with low front hemlines. Mini balloon skirts made a statement at Gucci and Giambattista Valli.

11-Fringe & Feather

Fringe remained a dominant trend for the Spring 2025 season, adding playful movement to garments and accessories. Nearly every designer included fringed pieces in their collections.

Feathers also made an appearance, bringing an ethereal charm and fluidity to the runways. With so many designers embracing these trends, we can only highlight a few to provide a glimpse of their impact.

Designers such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, 16Arlington, Christian Dior, Isabel Marant, Bottega Veneta, Erdem, Stella McCartney, Gabriela Hearst, Sacai, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Giambattista Valli, Akris, Roberto Cavalli, Prabal Gurung, and Dolce & Gabbana showcased fringe and feather accents across dresses, jackets, skirts, and accessories. Meanwhile, Moschino, Missoni, and Proenza Schouler took a bold approach with full-fringe dresses, embracing the trend to its fullest extent.

12-Bows & Knots

Designers had fun with bows and knots, using them as both statement and subtle details. Valentino incorporated bow details in many of its designs. Acne Studios incorporated oversized, exaggerated bows into their collections, while Erdem, Carolina Herrera, Moschino, Prada, Giambattista Valli, Chanel, Rabanne, and Antonio Marras incorporated chic, subtle bow details into their designs.

Knot elements appeared in designs from Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Alberta Ferretti, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Ferragamo, and Carolina Herrera.

13- Capes Make a Springtime Comeback

Traditionally a fall style, capes were adapted for spring with lightweight fabrics like lace, chiffon, and satin. From short, shoulder-dusting capes at Chanel to extended, floor-length versions at Etro, Elia Saab, and Louis Vuitton, capes were the perfect layering piece for spring.

Some designers, such as Brandon Maxwell, Sacai, Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Giambattista Valli, and Alberta Ferretti, built capes directly into dresses and tops, creating flowing, graceful silhouettes.

14-Peek-a-Boo Cutouts

Cutouts continued to be popular, with designers strategically placing openings to offer glimpses of skin. Alexander McQueen and Prada featured mid-rise trousers and skirts with horizontal panels below the waistband for a peek-a-boo effect.

Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, and Isabel Marant embraced strategic cutouts, while Miu Miu and Rabanne showcased daring midriff-revealing designs. Max Mara, Etro, and Carolina Herrera added circular cutouts at the waist and shallow ovals above the hipbone, further exploring this trend.

15-High Slits & Pencil Skirts

Once again, legs were on full display with high slits on skirts and dresses. Front, double-side, or asymmetric slits were prominent on the runways, with Luisa Spagnoli mastering the art.

Chanel featured skirts with front slits that offered subtle glimpses of the leg, while Burberry and Zimmermann’s maxi skirts with double side slits added a flowing touch.

Roberto Cavalli, Etro, Michael Kors, Elie Saab, Frederick Anderson, and Schiaparelli embraced bold, glamorous asymmetric slits, while Max Mara and Luisa Spagnoli stayed true to sleek elegance with front-slit designs.

Max Mara showcased long pencil skirts, while designers like Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Hermès, Acne Studios, and Moschino presented this timeless and flattering silhouette in leather versions. Marni showcased tight siren skirts with stiff ruched hems.
