SOFT SUMMER COLOUR GUIDE
SOFT SUMMERs main characteristic is muted and cool. On the other hand, they are the warmest in summer family since they are close to Autumn season according to flow theory. Your skin, eye and hair colours blend together meaning there is low contrast between them. Your eyes are grayish blue or green. Your skin is neutral cool with ashy and pinky undertones. Your hair has ashy tones as wee, ranges from ash blonde to dark ask brown. Your hair colour is mostly darker than the other summer seasons.
Technically you can create colour combinations by mixing and matching colours in your colour palette. You can combine your accent colours with your basic colours or with your dark or light neutral colours.
SOFT SUMMERs have soft, muted, medium value colours with cool undertones in their palette. These colours are lighter and cooler than the Autumn palettes but slightly warmer and darker than the other Summer palettes. Neighboring the Autumn season adds more deep and warmer tones as well as couple brown tones into Soft Summers colouring. They also have low contrast between them.
Since you have low contrast in your features, we recommend you to choose monochromatic or analogous combinations, which means, combining the different shades of the same colour or combining neighboring colours. You have many option to do these combinations in your colour palette.
Avoid clear and bright colours and high contrast and bold combinations (complementary, triadic or tetradic) , otherwise you look washed out behind your outfit. Black is not in your palette, cause its too dark for you. Try deep gray and cool brown shades instead of black. White is also too bright for you, you can choose other light neutrals in your colour palette for your combinations.
Since your natural look has low contrast, your patterns should reflect the same. Your colour palette has medium value colours meaning neither dark or light. Best to choose the same colours in your palette for your patterns and prints.
Small to medium scale, loosely arranged and light colour patterns such as flowers, water colour designs, delicate shapes would be nice options for your natural look. Avoid too dense, big or sharp shapes and geometric patterns.
